Breakthrough Parenting: Moving from Struggle to Cooperation is a unique 10-week course for parents offered by the instructor of Parental Dynamics, in the Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. Parents will learn advanced skills to replace the outdated permissive and authoritarian methods that simply do not work well in today’s parenting environment. The Breakthrough Parenting® method of training is highly recognized by the Courts in the state of California.
The award-winning Breakthrough Parenting program is presented by Parental Dynamics, by a Certified Parenting Instructor, and is based on Dr. Jayne A. Major’s practical research and real-life experience in training over 20,000 parents. This parenting education course offers an in-depth understanding of the underlying causes of children’s behavior which is key. Applying the Breakthrough Parenting proven methods that can turn power struggles with your child into cooperation and communication.
This ten-week Parenting Education Course features dramatizations of discipline situations that demonstrate what works with difficult problems. These dramatizations and role-play show ideas and tools for effective discipline, improved achievement and modeling appropriate behaviors and skills for your children. The goal of the course is to help YOU raise responsible, loving and confident children using effective discipline without punishment or manipulation, covering your parenting responsibilities to children ages birth through adult.
This program also includes discussion and review of additional resource materials specially designed for parents who are in the process of divorcing or have divorced and who need to develop the knowledge and skills to understand and respond to the special needs their children may have as a result of the divorce and to succeed in their on going roles as mother and father despite the fact that they are no longer husband and wife. Topics include the impact of separation and divorce on families, developmental stages of children and expected reactions to divorce, skills parents can use to minimize stress and help children to cope, guidelines for reducing conflicts and solving custody issues out of court and recognizing when a child needs special help and where to find resources. If you have been court-ordered or recommended to attend parenting education, this course is a must for you. Letters of Participation and Enrollment can be provided for the Court. A Gold Certificate is issued on successful completion of the workbook and written post-test with a minimum 70% correct answers.
